A catch-all e-mailbox is one that gathers all the messages sent to non-existent email addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but somebody miswrites it and sends a message to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and in this way you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an outdated email address or has made a mistake. The disadvantage of creating a catch-all mailbox is that you may start receiving lots of unsolicited messages, but this issue can be fixed by using an anti-spam filtering solution. It is also crucial to remember that a mailbox with an activated catch-all feature cannot forward incoming messages to a third-party email address.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

If you have a Linux cloud package with our company and you wish to enable the catch-all feature for a specific mailbox that you’ve got in your hosting account, it will take literally only a single click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel to do that. A catch-all button is available on the right-hand side of each email address that you have set up under any domain registered in the account. You can pick one email address per domain name by clicking on the respective button. This will enable the feature immediately, so all emails sent to miswritten addresses will be re-sent there. Clicking on the button again will deactivate the catch-all feature. In case you have enabled email forwarding, our system will show a cautionary message and you won’t be able to activate the catch-all feature unless you deactivate the forwarding or you can simply pick some other mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

A catch-all address can be created with a few clicks of the mouse in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated hosting package with our company. The semi-dedicated hosting account will be administered via our custom Hepsia Control Panel and you will be able to create mailboxes using any domain name registered here. To enable the catch-all feature for a particular mailbox, you’ll have to click on the sign with the same name, which will be to the right of each mailbox. Deactivating this feature can be accomplished in the exact same way and will not require more than a click either. If the catch-all feature has already been enabled for a given domain, you will get a warning alert. The same is valid if the mailbox that you wish to be a catch-all one has email forwarding activated, as our system will never deactivate or modify anything automatically.
